Some of Our Workshops

Self Love and Visionary Fiction as Tools for Liberation, Justice and Autonomy

Date: February 3rd
Time: 11:10 AM- 12:25 PM
Location: TBA

In this workshop cristina and carla will share personal stories about loving themselves as a revolutionary practice. Carla is a community organizer from Solidarity House of the South in South Central and Cristina works with CopWatch Santa Ana. Beyond their political work, they believe in the healing and transformative power of love. They are guided by the belief that learning to love yourself in a society that intentionally is killing black and brown bodies is revolutionary.

Total Liberation: The Politics of Meat and Dairy

Date: February 3rd
Time: 11:00 AM- 12:25 PM
Location: TBA

When you think of the animal agriculture industry, issues of feminism, bodily autonomy, and reproductive exploitation probably do not come straight to mind. But in this workshop we shed a critical lens on how sexism, speciesism, and other forms of oppression intersect in the commodification of an industry completely based on total domination of other animal bodies. How this not only affects the trillions born into the industry every year but also environmental and food justice. Do rights stop at the human/animal divide?

Men in Organizing Spaces: Get Yo Shit Together

Date: February 3rd
Time: 1:35 PM- 2:45 PM
Location: TBA

Discussion on gender dynamics and political ideologies in organizing spaces and how men often marginalize Queer/Trans/Femme voices of color, de-Center their experiences, remove their agency, and alienate them from their own struggles for liberation.
